A raindrop falls from a cloud on the ground! She asks everyone she meets the same question: What month am I? This story revives popular proverbs about the months of the year with wonderful illustrations that tickle the child’s mind and senses.

The child learns the months of the year through a simple rhymed dialogue. The dialogue includes popular proverbs for each month. The raindrop doesn't know what month she finds herself in, so she asks everyone the same question: “What month am I?” She asks the swallow, the sun, the cat, the ant, the earthworm, and the leaf. Each of them answers with a popular proverb about that month. Finally other drops of rain come down and tell her that the current month is September, and that winter will soon be coming.

About the Author

Hanaa Qutaish studied industrial engineering at the University of Jordan and started working in the human resources in 2011 at several companies in Jordan and Qatar.
Hana loves reading, cinema and proverbs. She started writing for kids since gave birth to her son Hashem, and published her first story "What month am I?"

About the Illustrator

Omar Lafi is an illustrator of children's stories, animators and graphic designer. He graduated from Yarmouk University - Jordan in 2000 and studied graphic design. He worked as an illustrator and animator for cartoon films at Rubicon Company - Jordan 2008-2018, and before that he was a lecturer at Al-Quds College - Jordan 2004-2006, and also worked as a graphic designer at Adworks Company - Jordan 2002-2003. His book “The Red Snake” won The best children’s book for the year 2020 in the Arab Forum for Children’s Books Award, and his book “The Bird’s Logic” is a candidate for the same award.
