A simple story told from the perspective of Lafloofa, a worm who lived happily inside a green cabbage, enjoying its delicious leaves. However, her life is turned upside down when she wakes up to the sound of children happily shouting about the cabbage dish, followed by the sound of the outer leaves being peeled apart. Soon, the mother discovers Lafloofa and calls her children to see her.
Lafloofa is filled with fear as Kareem, Youssef, and Hana eagerly stare at her. The mother tries to reassure Lafloofa and gives her a cabbage leaf to eat. Hana suggests naming the worm ""Dodo,"" which makes Lafloofa angry. She tries to introduce herself, but of course, no one can hear her.
Each child then proposes a risky way to handle Lafloofa: Kareem wants to put her in a cup of water, while Hana suggests placing her in a candy box. At this point, the mother gently intervenes, reminding the children to respect small creatures and not harm them, which reassures Lafloofa a little. However, as soon as the mother leaves, Lafloofa is shocked to find herself in a closed glass jar. Terrified, she comes up with a plan to escape by pretending to be sick and weak. Her plan works, and the children decide to release her into the garden.
Finally, Lafloofa finds a new home among other worms and feels happy once again, though she amusingly discovers that many of them are also called ""Dodo""!

About the Author
Marwa Salamah An Egyptian children's writer, was born in Cairo. She studied history at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University. Since childhood, she had a deep passion for reading stories, seeing their world as a magical realm that allowed her to travel, laugh, and learn. Her love for reading remained with her throughout her life.
When she became a mother, she made reading a part of her children's daily routine, often reading to them before bedtime. Whenever she lacked a storybook, she would improvise and create her own tales. She noticed how much her children enjoyed and engaged with these stories, which inspired her to study the art of writing for children. She took the Edraak course led by Maria Dadouch, followed by several workshops, training sessions, and extensive readings in children's literature.
Marwa then took the step of writing professionally and reaching out to publishers. Her stories have since been published in children's magazines and by various publishing houses.
About the Illustrator
Ava is an Iranian artist who has found refuge and a constant companion in the world of illustration throughout her life.
She studied graphic design, and as she entered university, she began working internationally.
In recent years, she has fully focused on professional illustration, creating numerous children's books published worldwide, along with other international illustration projects.
Her illustrations always carry a touch of humor, as she believes that artwork sparking children's imagination should also bring them joy, laughter, and delight. Despite experimenting with different techniques and styles, this sense of humor remains a defining element of her work.
Although she is Iranian by origin, she has dedicated her heart and art to children all around the world.
