Dealing with school homework is a daily problem for some parents who have a hard time getting their children to concentrate or manage their time. Some children keep postponing doing their homework, secretly hoping that it will eventually go away. In this story, Jude unwittingly keeps postponing doing her homework and finally realizes that this procrastination has consequences. "Not Yet" is a story that many kids and parents will identify with. The author recounts that one time after she finished reading the story at a school, one of the chidren walked up to her and smiling sheepishly said “why are you writing about me?”. This story provides parents and teachers the chance to discuss the matter of procrastination through a story which has proved to be one of the best ways to grab a child's attention.
